BMW revealed upgrades to the BMW ALPINA B7 high performance sedan. The B7 capitalized on the changes of the facelift 2013 7-Series. Official reveal will take place at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August which will mark the sale date of the B7.

The older B7 featured a twin-turbo charged 4.4-liter V8 based on the standard 750i producing 507 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The new same displacement twin-turbo produces 540 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque. Valvetronic throttle-less intake and the new 8 speed automatic transmission is to credit for the improvement in power delivery. Alpina claims 0-60 MPH on the B7 in the low 4 second range. Down from the previous 4.8 seconds to 60.

 

Top speed is also improved to a supercar category of 194 MPH drag-limited for the rear-wheel-drive and 193 for the X-Drive. That’s up from 175 mph for the pre-facelift B7.

Cooling capacity is increased to accommodate the additional power. BMW 7-Series facelift updates like the new kidney grill, adaptive xenon headlights, LED fog lights, and redesigned taillights have made their way into the B7.  Additional changes are the engine auto start-stop technology, ceramic secondary controls. Standard equipment is the infamous 20-spoke Alpina wheels and the Alpina blue metallic exterior color.

The B7 is a special order vehicle that undergoes final production at Alpina’s plant in Buchloe, Germany. Pricing is as follows: Standard Wheelbase at $128,495, Standard wheel base with xDrive AWD at $131,495, B7 Long Wheelbase at $132,395, with XDrive all-wheel-drive is set at $135,395 including $895 destination charges.
