BMW announced a new head of exterior design. A 42 year old Lebanese French-Canadian, Karim Habib, assumed the rule as of June 1st of 2012. Habib joined the design the team in ’98, where he helped the current generation E65 BMW 7 Series loose it’s Bangle-butt that previous design chief Chris Bangle had created in his designs.

Karim is a designer and engineer that studied in Canada, and the State of California. He has held several exterior and interior design positions inside of BMW Design. A total of 14 years of experience at BMW alone. As well as his contribution to major design challenges, gives him enough BMW-DNA for us enthusiasts to trust his judgment with the mighty task at hand.

As the Senior VP of Design of BMW put it, “his longstanding experience and subtle instinct for timely elegance and dynamics are the ideal prerequisites for this demanding task.” With many new iconic models scheduled in the books, we are sure to see how it all shapes up.
