BMW On Demand USA, part of BMW Financial Services, to start allowing customers to rent any BMW model from dealerships across the United States. The Ultimate Driving Machine could be rented hourly, daily, or weekly to meet your driving or show-off needs.
Is BMW making the right decision by offering it’s On Demand USA car rental? This is a great new way for BMW to reach new customers from other brands that would otherwise hesitate to test drive these cars with pressure from a sales person. Existing BMW customers can also benefit from trying out different models in the rental program. This should help retain the existing customers.
BMW already setup a website that is currently not functional. But shortly, the website will become functional. How much will BMW On Demand rental program charge for the car rentals is yet to be known. Until then, you can start planning for your next BMW rental from now.
On the other hand, fleet vehicles and rental cars usually get a fair amount of abuse by drivers. Especially when drivers rent them for a joy ride. Another thought to note is that this program will make it easier for competitor car makers (like Lexus, Cadillac, Mercedes…) to rent a brand new BMW out of the box, test and record test data for reverse engineering their cars. Instead of purchasing or waiting for mainstream car renting offices to offer new model rentals. Over all this is exciting news from BMW enthusiasts that want to test drive these cars but can’t afford to purchase the car new at the point of rental.
